Introducing the Control Pod 3.0

Today, we are happy to announce that we are releasing a new Adaptalux Studio Control Pod!

The Control Pod 2.0 has served our customers well over the past few years, but now feels like the right time to bring out something new. We have been busy working hard over the past 2 years to bring something really special to our users.

This release marks a new generation of Adaptalux Control Pod for the Adaptalux Studio range, bringing a totally new design and a host of improvements.

New features –  Pod 3.0

An Innovative Dial for Brightness Control

The biggest change that comes with the Control Pod 3.0, is the new control scheme. By using an anodised aluminum dial, manual brightness control has never been easier. The dial gives you full control and the ability to fine-tune your power settings for both the LED Lighting Arms and Xenon Flash Lighting Arms.

Simply press the dial once to make an Arm pulse, then turn the dial clockwise or anti-clockwise to increase or decrease the level of that Arm. Press the dial again to move onto the next arm, or leave for 5 seconds to save the settings.

Of course, the Pod 3.0 also keeps boost mode. To activate, hold the dial down for 3 seconds. To deactivate, repeat the process. It’s that easy!

Complete Re-design – A new look and more durable

We have re-designed the Control Pod 3.0 from the ground up. Reflecting on the iconic look of the Control Pod 1.0 and 2.0, the new design features a much thicker and more robust shell. The split line is now along the sides of the product and the overall assembly of the product has been vastly improved. This results in a much stronger design, that can handle even the most adventurous of photographer’s camera bags.

The patented connector system remains the same, meaning all of your existing Lighting Arms and Adaptalux products will work with the Pod 3.0.

Improved Battery Life and USB-C

The Pod 3.0 boasts a brand new battery with +20% capacity compared to the Control Pod 2.0. You can now expect up to 12 hours of use on a single charge. The battery can be charged and directly powered via USB-C from a wall plug, computing device, or portable power bank.

Improved Mounting Functionality

The Control Pod 3.0 now has a metal 1/4-20″ thread incorporated directly into the Pod shell. This allows for more robust mounting solutions that can handle more weight. We have listened to your feedback over the past few years and are happy to be able to deliver this much-requested feature.

Dedicated Bluetooth Button and Master Reset pin

The Control Pod 3.0 features a dedicated Bluetooth connection button and a master reset pin. The Bluetooth button is used to toggle Bluetooth on and off for wireless control. The master reset pin, vastly simplifies the reset procedure if required, with a simple push of the pin.

Improved Bluetooth Reliability with wireless boost mode

The Pod 3.0 is now even faster at connecting to our free mobile app. We have now also added the functionality to be able to toggle boost mode on and off via the App, another very useful and highly requested feature.

The Pod 3.0 supports app control on both iOS and Android devices using the Adaptalux App.
