We are pleased to announce that the Adaptalux App is getting a major overhaul in both looks and functionality. This update is rolling out across devices, starting with iOS and following with Android in the coming months. This marks an exciting Adaptalux App Update for all users.
We have rolled out periodic updates to the Adaptalux App over the years, but this marks our biggest single App Update since we launched the App back in 2016.
Multi-Pod Connectivity & Pod Mini 2.0 Support
The Adaptalux App now supports Multi-Pod Connectivity and now supports connecting to the new Pod Mini 2.0. This allows you to connect to multiple Control Pods and Pod Minis at once, so you can control your entire macro lighting setup remotely. Add as many Pod 3.0 and Pod Mini 2.0’s as you require – it really is a gamechanger!
App Control gives you full control and the ability to fine-tune your power settings for both the LED Lighting Arms and Xenon Flash Lighting ArmsΒ across your entire lighting environment.

Updated Functionality – Easier to Use
We have improved the functionality of the Adaptalux App by listening to feedback over the years. The App now opens straight into the control page.
The control page has the same port layout as you would expect with the brightness/power controls at the bottom. Near the top we now have a new “Connected Pods” section, which allows you to seamlessly switch between your connected Pods and manage them.
At the top we still have the connect to Control Pods button, but this will dynamically change to allow you to manage your connected Pods and also disconnect from them individually or all at once.
This improved layout keeps it simple to use, so you can focus on dialling in your lighting to be just right.
Improved Visuals
Alongside the functionality, the visuals have also been updated and refreshed to modern standards with App design.
With iOS, we are now using the Liquid Glass aesthetic with many of the Apps interactive items.
Alongside this, we have added new graphics to support the added functionality of Pod Mini 2.0 connectivity. This keeps it clear, which type of Pod you are controlling at any given time.

Backwards Compatibility
The updated app has been designed using the Pod 3.0 and Pod Mini 2.0. However, it still also supports the older Control Pod 2.0.
Depending on device, the much older Original Control Pod 1.0 may also still be supported, however functionality is no longer guaranteed.

How to Update
Updating the Adaptalux App is easy. Please head to the App store and search “Adaptalux”.
You will see a update button, tap on that and the app will update. If you have auto-update apps turned on in your phones settings, the app will update automatically overnight.
The Adaptalux App is also now available on iPads and Apple silicone computers. If you have a Apple Silicone Macbook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro – these now all support the Adaptalux App and can be downloaded from the App Store on your Mac.
We are currently still developing the Android version of the app, and expect it to be ready within the next 6-8 weeks. Android is much more complicated to develop for due to the numerous types of devices with Android support, which is why it takes more time to complete.
The App proudly remains free of charge to download and use.

What products are supported by the App
The App supports all types of Control Pod and the Pod Mini 2.0. This means all types of LED Lighting Arms and Xenon Flash products can be controlled remotely via these products. The new app is a gamechanger with wireless control and we really hope you enjoy using it. In summary, the Adaptalux App Update delivers significant enhancements for all macro photographers.
