Exploring 1000s of macro subjects at Nottingham University – Watch on YouTube
We have been invited to collaborate with the Biological Photography and Imaging course at Nottingham University. They have kindly given us access to their collection which includes everything from dinosaur bones to preserved insects.
Biological Photography and Imaging
The reason for this collection is to enable students of the Biological Photography and Imaging MSc course to practice photography on real subjects. This course is dedicated to providing students from scientific backgrounds with the creative tools they need to communicate effectively.
Having access to a huge collection like this is rare. We’re very grateful for the opportunity to explore the 1000s of potential subjects here and we hope it will make for some interesting and educational content for all of you!
Please let us know if you see anything you would like us to take a closer look at. We’re going to be returning to Nottingham soon and we would like to know what you would photograph first if you had a collection like this!
We already had the great opportunity to explore one of their rare butterflies and photograph its colorful wings. Check out the video and stills here.
We have to thank the School of Life Sciences at Nottingham University and particularly the team from the MSc Biological Photography and Imaging course for giving us access to their collections and expertise!
Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss the upcoming videos looking at these fascinating subjects in more detail!
