Xenon Flash

Today, we are happy to announce the release of the much anticipated 2nd generation of the Adaptalux Xenon Flash product range!

Over the past year, we have progressively been working on the Xenon Flash Arms, based on new technological innovations as well as customer feedback.

This release marks the 2nd generation of Adaptalux Xenon Flash Arms and accessories for the Adaptalux Studio, bringing a plethora of new features designed to evolve your Flash Macro Photography.

Xenon Flash Arms are compatible with both the Control Pod 3.0 and Pod Mini, bringing an ultra small Flash head to the market. The precision and flexibility of these small flashes allow you to get powerful light into places other strobes cannot – a particularly important feature for macro photography.

New Features –  Xenon Flash Arms

All New Control Scheme via the Control Button.

We have re-engineered and re-designed the software within the Xenon Flash Arms to bring a fresh control scheme, which is easy and effortless to use.

The button underneath the Flash Arm now serves 2 purposes. It now is the main control button, used to select levels 1-5 for Flash Power. A simple press of the button will change the level of the flash quickly and effortlessly.

No more “dialling in” the setting of the Flash Arm via the Control Pod, which was time-consuming.

The Control Button can also be used to safely discharge any remaining Flash charge to help maintain the capacitor life after use, and it also acts as a reset button when required.

This changes how the controls on the Control Pod 3.0 or Pod Mini are used for flash. Instead of controlling the flash settings using the Pod, simply plug the Arm in, turn boost mode on and ramp the power up to maximum before you start shooting.

Radio Triggering

We have replaced the modulated Infrared triggering with an all new Radio Triggering system in generation 2.

This is much more reliable and no more line of sight is required between the Flash Trigger and Flash Arms.  With a reliable range of up to 3 metres, there is now plenty of distance for all types of macro photography.

App Wireless Control

Due to advances made in the software, we have developed the capability for the Xenon Flash Arm power level settings to be wirelessly selectable via the Adaptalux App.

You can now wirelessly control both LED and Xenon Flash Arms from the Adaptalux App, with a simple and intuitive interface.

*Please note, app control for the Xenon Flash Arms is only available on iOS. Android Support coming later this year.

Built in Memory

The Xenon Flash Arms now have built in memory. This means they will now remember the previous settings used between shoots. Simply plug in and continue from where you left off.

New LED sequences

The LED sequences on the Xenon Flash Arms have been changed to be simpler and easier to understand. This allows you to quickly determine the state of the flash arm, from needing to turn boost mode on, to charging.

This change provides a much more user-friendly interface to aid in a smooth and successful shoot.

Stiffer Gooseneck

This generation of Flash Arms now utilises as more ridged form of Gooseneck. This ensures the position of your arms is better maintained whilst keeping that familiar Adaptalux feel and flex.
