Little Snapper Pledge Award:-
Wall of Fame Image
The wall of fame image has now been designed by Sam. Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey, we really appreciate that. This image will be published in a featured blog post on our website this week and it will also be plastered onto our homepage. We would like to thank everyone who pledged at this level, you are amazing and helped us achieve our goal! Thanks a bunch!
Sharing’s Caring Pledge Award:-
The Adaptalux lens cloths have now been ordered and are been sent to us tomorrow. We hope to receive them by the end of the week and then we will post them to you as soon as possible next week. We have also included everyone in this reward in the wall of fame image above. The lens cloths are going to look great and we cannot wait to receive them and get them out to you. Again, thank you to everyone who pledged within this tier, you are awesome! We will upload some pictures of the clothes when we get them.
Golden Hour pledge award:-
We sent out the survey for this award last week. Most of you have already filled it in so thank you for that.
Other pledge awards:-
Surveys for the remaining pledge award levels will be sent out next week. Thank you for your patience.
Last week was a busy week for the Adaptalux Development schedule. We finally received the Kickstarter funds last Wednesday, they are now safe in our bank account ready to be put to use!
Sam is already communicating with manufacturers to get final quotes and will start making orders next week. He has been busy finalising parts and optimising Adaptalux for manufacture and assembly. Sam is off to suffolk this weekend to see Andy, so they can triple check the engineering drawings, prototype and CAD models with a fine tooth pick before making a start on the tooling orders.
Sam also went down to Bournemouth at the end of last week. He met up with our electronics engineer and App developer to get things rolling in these areas. Both meetings were great, and many ideas were brought to the forefront for Adaptalux and the App. Work on the App and electronics will begin next week, whilst Sam is busy currently drawing up new visual concepts for the App based on feedback. Things are looking really positive for the next few months in both of these areas and we may have a few surprises up our sleeves for everyone!
Sam took some time to re-visit some dorset locations before returning home, he misses Dorset that is for sure!
We have extended our Kickstarter price sale on our store for anouther week due to the positive reaction it has received. Get any additional Adaptalux parts for your packs at a great one time only price now. http://adaptalux.com/shop/
Heads up:- We are going to run a competition soon to win some Adaptalux prizes. So get out there and start shooting macro to get a head start!
Here is a selection of our favourite macro photos submitted to us by you! We love seeing your photography work, so please carry on sending us your photos. We hope some of these photos inspire you to try capturing different subjects using different photographic lighting techniques.
We love this photo. We really like how the insect really pops out and shows excellent detail. Bugs are so cool!
Another great shot of a fly side profile. We really like how the insect contrasts amazingly against the black background.
Ice is a fantastic subject for macro photography. It comes in loads of different forms and we think Dave has captured this amazing shot superbly. The Ice has literally frozen the grass in time.
An amazing floral macro photograph by David. We really like the composition of the flower with the bright centre drifting off to the soft red petals.
A super close up of a flower. The colours are really vibrant and amazing, and is it just us… or does it kinda look like a friendly monster face? Awesome.
This shot is great and is of some fibre optic cable ends. Subjects like this can make amazingly abstract photographs that are different and unique. We think this would make an amazing desktop wall paper Helen!
Awesome water droplet shot by Karl. Choosing a good background to go with your subject is very important, as this image shows.
Awesome image of a insect submitted to us by Marc. The pose is striking, which makes the photo engaging. Great shot of the eyes too!
Had to include two of the photos submitted by Michel of his floral macro images. They are outstanding, using a light to highlight specific areas of a flower. The colours blend together really well and the images have a great contrast.
A product shot of a watch by Sam. Awesome image, it looks like a computer render! This reminds us that we need to give this a go using Adaptalux!
Thank you for submitting us your images. Sorry if we didn’t include yours, we can only feature some of them. Lets do this again soon, it was fun.
We just wanted to write a quick update regarding our progress this week. We still can’t get over the support we received on Kickstarter! You are all amazing.
Sam is going through the design work with a tooth pick to ensure everything is how it should be before we start ordering tooling. The engineering drawings for the diffusers and colour filters are now finalised and ready. Next week he will be working on finalising the Lighting Arms. In terms of the business side, we are currently in talks with some distributors who would like to stock and sell Adaptalux. We will keep you updated about this!
We have been busy gathering the information for the Little Snapper and Sharing’s Caring pledges. Please find below example images for the Adaptalux Lens cloth designs. Sharing’s Caring pledgers can select which cloth they would like to receive in the survey we have sent out through Kickstarter.
Dark Yellow Green
Pure Red Orange
Dark Warm Brown
Our online shop is now up and running. However, it is still in its early phase and there may be a few problems that we are trying to fix over the remainder of this week. If you are having any problems trying to purchase anything off our store then please let us know by emailing email@example.com.
Has anyone been doing any Macro Photography over the last week? We would love to see your images on our Facebook wall or Flickr page!
